if in a centrifugal pump suction, discharge ,& impeller size constant & motor rpm increase..

Answer / arul - mz

Mr.Wael pl see any centrifugal pump...The suction will have
a greater dia than discharge...

This is to make the suction side flooded to prevent
cavitation.... and avoiding the pump to run to operate only
for a liquid and not for other fluids like air or vapours...

However if the situation as stated above comes in picture
CAVITATION will surely occur, which will heat the pump...
This will inturn reduce the life of the pump.

Answer / ramesh kansagra

If we increase motor rpm by 10% so flow will increase by
10%. If we increase motor rpm by 10% so head pressure will
increase by 21%.If we increase motor rmp by 10% so power
will increase by 33%.

In Rankine Cycle we use the concept of Tm(mean temperature of heat addition). In actual cycle the efficiency comes as n=1-T2/T1 Taking Tm into consideration it comes as n=1-T2/Tm as T1>Tm so the efficiency for both case will not same for a same cycle. Can anybody explain how it is possible? Advance appreciation for your effort. Thanks
