A Mech. Engr. Can better manage a power plant
Being a mechanical engr, always look at the systems or the
equipment with a high level of performance efficiency and
operate with minimum breakdowns, taking into account the
timely pre-planned maintainance schedules.
A mechanical engineer has studied in his engg. course all
aspects of power generators such as (1) IC
Engines,pump,turbo charger,Filteration system
(2) Heat Transfer (3) Basics of electricals and some basic
knowledge of electronics. Can manage the POWER PLANT much
better.
All that needs is to understand the generators operation
and maintainance part and be able to communicate concerned
department effectively,hence a Mech. Engr.is an effective
to manage the power plant
Role and responsibility : manage the operating work
force ,monitor the daily health checks of generators,pre-
plan the preventive maintainance schedules,generate
necessary spares parts list.Strict follow up on
Daily,Weakly,Monthly,Half Yearly and annual maintainances
Etc.
