Answer / maprayil

KVAr is square root of (KVA2-kW2). In your case the system KVAr at P.F. 0.76 lag is 1129 KVAr; and P.F. 0.80, it is 990 KVAr. (These are the KVAr values required to take your system P.F. to Unity or 1.00). Please note the following values:-

With a running load of 1320 kW, the Maximum Demand (KVA) of your system at 0.76 PF is 1737 KVA; and at P.F. 0.80, it is 1650 KVA. At a P.F. of 0.98, the Max Demand would be 1347 KVA (KVA = kW/P.F.).

Now that you have the system KVAR & KVA values, the simplest way is to calculate the system KVAR after P.F. is improved to 0.98 lag (your desired value). This can be worked by (considering initial P.F. 0.76):-

KVAR = Square root ((KVA+kW)*(KVA-kW))
= Square root ((1347+1320)*(1347-1320)
= Square root (2667 * 27) = SQRT 72009
= 268 KVAr.

So KVAR required for improving the P.F. of 1320 kW running load from 0.76 to 0.98 is 1129 KVAR (initial system KVAR) minus 268 KVAr (final system KVAR), i.e., 861 KVAr. This KVAR needs to be installed in multiple steps with automatic switching arrangement.

Actually it is very simple.You know the present pf and
desired pf too.so you can use the formula:

Kvar=kwh(tan(inverse)phi1-tan(inverse)phi2)

Phi1=actual or present pf
Phi2=desired pf

Answer / s. k. mishra

KVAR^2 = KVA^2 - KW^2 = KVA^2 - KVA^2 * pf^2= KVA^2(1-pf^2)

THEREFORE KVAR= KVA [(1-pf^2)]^1/2

Answer / tajinder singh

kw=1320
present PF = 0.76
kva =1320/0.76
=1737
for unity pf u require capacitors Panel =1129 kVAr
for 0.98 pf u require capacitors panel =858 kVAr

My vendor filled liquid oxygen in our 11000 liter capacity tank. He filled from 1400 MMWC up to 3200 MMWC. I followed the provided conversion table and found that we had been supplied 1800 MMWC liquid which is going to yield 2815 cubic meter. On the other hand, the vendor claims that he supplied as follows:- 5236 cub mtr(3200 MMWC)-2124 cub mtr(1400MMWC) = 3112 cub mtr. I fear that he wants to charge 297 cubic meters extra. He claims that my method was wrong and his was right. He says that this disparity is because of the conical shape of the base of the flask. I will be thankful if somebody can explain me the truth.

I need the way which we are doing in MB21, Reservation creation by thru Cost Center / WBS Element. At present if you run MB21 and you are going to issue the material system will not allow to generate the reservation if there are zero stock components in the list. please guide me for this issue ? Note : Simple what I need is I don't want to create any reservation thru maintenance order for the Zero Stock Components. Regards, Abdul Mujeeb
