To learn Testing, no need of development knowledge, but you
should have knowledge of operations of the software.

Its good to have some software knoweldge although not
indepth...
some Basics of oops concepts, c++ and Java basics, basic
SQL...some Unix commands

It wil always help to emerge out as an excellent tester
