Testing job is undoubtedly a technical job.Bcoz the testing guy should have a basic knowledge about the development things also.The technical skills helps the product to come as error free.Involving all the fields like development,Database management, designing will help in the testers growth also.

I have seen a few websites (Software Companies),the careers
page would have 2 links (1)Technical jobs (2) Non Technical
jobs. If u click on the Non Technical jobs link u would find
QA,Testing etc in that link, n besides any graduate
(bcom,mcom,bsc,msc) is eligible for software tesing job.
