Software metrics are measures or numerical data related to
software development and software testing.
Some of the metrics related to testing are,
Customer satisfaction index, Requirement Stabiltiy index,
Defect metrics, effort variation, schedule variation,
Defects fixing efficiency, Test efficiency etc etc. Most of
these will be used as a part of Post Project Review.
some of the metrics like requirement tracebility metrics
(RTM) will be used as a inprocess metrics to track
requirement Vs Test Scenarios. This metrics is to ensure
the test coverage

all the above they r telling about what i know is called
tracebility matrix
there is one i know test metrics which is different for
matrix
tracebility matrix is what we map the requirments qith the
test cases
where as test metric is basically used to measure the
tester performance like
they will not down how much time is required to complete on
particular task and how much the tester is taking to
complete that task,
and the metric contains all the info which can be measured
are maintained in the particular table or file called test
metircs
and i learned that based on this metrics the management
people will set salaries for tester

Software Metrics are used to measure the quality of the project. Simply, Metric is a unit used for describing an attribute. Metric is a scale for measurement.

Test matrices is prepared in order to cross check the test
cases designed against each requirement, hence giving an
opportunity to verify that all the requirements are covered
in testing the application.
