plc in marketing context means, Product Life Cycle. It's the process a product passes through in it's life time. Every product just a human being has a life span when introduced onto the market. Some products may stay longer but will eventually fade off from the market. A new product is any product that is new in anyway, therefore those products that are fading off may be remodeled to come back on to market as new products. Every product passes through the plc. The stages involved in the plc are Introductory stage, Growth stage Maturity/Saturation stage and the Decline stage.
