adhoc reports are the reports generated at instance. i.e spontaneously according to requirement.

Ad hoc reporting is a user friendly feature designed for
all levels of users. Custom reports are created using
queries. A query is one or more statements that request
data from a database. If the data is available, then the
requested data returns in the form of a table which
contains rows and columns. Queries are sent to the
databases in a language called SQL. However, when using the
Report Panel, SQL knowledge is not required.

An ad hoc report is a report that is created at request or
on-demand displaying information in a table or a chart that
is created to answer a question that has not already been
codified in a production report. Since there is a limit to
the number of standardized production reports and business
questions that can be anticipated, data source users may
find the need to create a quick report or chart to answer a
business question. If the query or question arises often
the ad hoc report should be analyzed and a standardize
production report should be designed and implemented.

I have 2 doubts regarding the "Input Control" functionality in BI4: 1) Can the Input Controls in BI4 be manipulated? I mean, can we change the IC display as BOLD or change the values from Italics to regular? Or change the colors? 2) How to get hierarchy type control in IC? Let's say my first IC is for Country and second is for State. If I select a particulat country from Ist IC,second one should show me states belonging to selected country. Is that possible?
