prompt is an option in webi reporting side..
@prompt is a function in universe side. if we create prompts using by @prompt, when we drag object that prompt will appear in reporting environment

Difference between Xcelsius and WEBI Report: In Xceslius we will create dashboards. WEBI reports is used to create WEBI reports from Infoview(BI LaunchPad).

Creates an object that prompts users to enter a specific value at Universe level using Unverse->Insert ->Conditions.
While creating webi Reports you can have one more prompt under Query Filters.
Xcelsius is used for developing dashboards and webi is a standard report tool
