maximum silt content 3% as per is 383;1970 . 3 % up not using civil construction .

as per IS 383:1970 the percentage of silt should be kept as low as possible,ideally less than 3%. Higher percentages of silt can cause appreciable reduction in the Compressive Strength of concrete.
