500KW/hr = 500 units
500KW/2hr = 1000 units
So after 2 hrs meter will show addition of 1000 units in meter reading.
E.g.: Before operation of 2 hrs meter reading is 5000, then meter reading will be 6000 after operation of 2 hrs.

If load is constant for two hours then the total consumption or generation will 500+500 i.e. 1 MW ONLY.
