how does the terminal voltage of transmission lines increase when a capacitor is connected???? This happens not only in transmission lines but also in all circuits. How??? When a capacitor is connected in a transmission line, capacitor also takes energy from the same supply. But how is it able to increase the terminal voltage??? When measuring the Insulation resistance of a motor winding (winding to earth) using a megger meter, Applied voltage(1000V) was automatically reduced to 500V. and the measured insulation resistance values are also very low (in Kohm range) Can anyone give me a reason???

The initial current is very large at the time of starting for almost all DC motors. SO WE USE STARTER FOR A SAFE STARTING but at our homes we don’t see any starters in our coolers, motors.WHY DON’T WE NEED STARTERS FOR THESE APPLIANCES?
