Do you mean for calculating Reinforced Steel or Structural steel.
For Reinforced steel:-
Area of Steel bar x Length x unit weight 7850
Ex:- 10mm dia of steel
Area=(3.14x 10 x 10)/4
=78.5mm2
Area in Sqmt=0.0000785
Assuming 1mtr length
=0.0000785 x 1 x 7850
=.616 Kg/mtr
