Batteries connected in series:
Let us consider that we need to light a lamp of 24 V.
So we can use 4 six volt batteries which can be connected in series to constitute 24 V.(4 batteries * 6 V =24 V).
Advantage:
Batteries connected in series provide higher voltage with same capacity.
Batteries connected in parallel:
Consider the same scenario.
If four 6 V batteries are connected in parallel it will provide 6 V only. Also any any one is damaged (short circuited) it will become 0 V.
So it is mandatory to get 24 V battery.
Advantage:
Batteries connected in parallel provide same voltage but double capacity.

Actuality I have at home electrical panel with 220v 50hz, and I want to converter from there to 110v 60hz, to wiring on the half of my house. Also I like to keep another half of my house with the original 220v 50hz. What is the best and safety way to do?
