50D to 60D is the thumb rule for lap length, the lap length
depends upon grade of concrete and thickness of steel bars

yes it is coorect that it is the thumbrule for lap length
eg.50D OR 60D.the lap length varies as per grade of
concrete ,grde of rienforcement bar and most importnat is
the position of bar also whethere it may be in flexural
tension,direct tension or direct compression

but it vary on grade of concrete and steel. say in m20 grade
normally 41d for lap length
