what is the disadvantage of lagging power factor & why ?..

Answer / saqkhu

The disadv of lag pf is that it causes the voltage regulation
to increase towards maximum value due to which the o/p volt
decreases.
volt reg= (V no load - V full load)
= IR cos phy - IX sin phy
in case of lag pf the current is lagging i.e I<-phy
so , the volt reg
= IR cos phy + IX sin phy is more
