because motor gives mechanical power as output, where as transformer
n alternator give electrical power as output.

Transformer is independent of pf.Hence the transformer rating is always expressed in KVA.
In Motor the pf is dependent on percentage loading & hence expressed in KW.

All ac sources are rated in kva where alternator
&transformer and all ac loads are rated in kw

becoz iron losses depends on voltage and copperlosses depends on current.....so the motor rating is in KVA
