Lap length of bar depends on grade of concrete and design bond. so we get different lap lengths for different grade of concretes which are as follows

length for horizontal member As per IS code is 70D

Vertical is a commpression member like coloumns etc and horizontal is a bending member.Depending on grade lap length will be determined.Horizontal will be more allways as bending stress.
