For a functionality 50 test cases are passed and we released
the code with all the test reports etc etc.. But in customer
side all the 50 test cases are failed.
How will you answer for this error to ur manager and Customer?

One of the prime reason for this type of happening could be non supportable environment at the user end . LIke if some iphone app has been developed for ios4 and at the client end when this app would be run on the ios6 then definitely lots of complexity could be faced by the client .
But yes not all the test cases would be failed but upto certain extent above reported problem could be understood with this .
Apart from the above there could also be the chances of sending untested built to the client as number of time it happens that due to improper built management incorrect builts are also sent to the client this is the reason why each and every tester either web or apps need to have a copy of the finally tested built .For webtester they could have their last tested upload on the testing server .
