synchronous motors run at constant speed irrespective of
load. i.e., weather you increase or decrease the load the
speed of motor does not change. however, there is a limit
upto what value the load can be increased, if the laod is
increased behind this value the motor stops rotating.
but in asynchronous motors the speed of the motor varies
along with the change in load.

in addition to ans#1, the constant speed for synchronous
motor is the synchronous speed (120f/p) whereas the speed
of asynchronous motor is always less than the synchronous
speed, there remains some slip...
