IN coordinate covalent bond electrons which are shared by
both the atoms are comtributed by only one atom .This is
otherwise known as dative bond.
In covalent bond the electrons shared by both the atoms are
contributed by both the atoms equally.

coordinate covalent bond is a bond in which the electron
pair shared is donated by one and and the same atom and it
is needed that the atom sharing the electrons should have a
lone pair of electron present like NH3 donates or shares
its electron pairs with BF3

In covalent bond, both atoms contributes same number of electrons,While in coordinate covalent bond two electrons are donated by a single atom
Is This Answer Correct ? | 1 Yes | 0 No |
Answer / akan
cordinate covalent occurs when the electrons that is involve in the bonding process is donated by only one element or atom while covalent bonding occurs when the electrons are donated evenly by both atoms.
