why Torispherical heads are used in pressure vessels?
Answer / lokesh k. singh
Because it provides the more volume, low surface area and
low liquid thrust as compaired to hemisperical and
cylindrical head for storage vessel.

ENGINEERING DRAWING - EXAMPLE 18.3 : Autocad computer program is used to draw a pipe that is used to transport natural gases for processing. Actual length of the pipe is 10 metres. The pipe has cross sectional area of circle in shape with measured circumference of s = 3 metres. (a) If 10 units are used to represent the actual length of the pipe in computerised engineering drawing, find the diameter of the pipe, d that will be shown in the engineering drawing. (b) If one unit in the program equals to 1 centimetre, find the scale used in the computer program.
why when we perform SCC of an alternator we always get a straight line even when 125% rated current is flown?
While there, are many tests available to detect leaks on vessels, is there a technology available to quantify the leak, or measure the flow through a leak?
Question 70 - According to Adolf Eugen Fick (1829 - 1901) : rate of diffusion v increases with less wall thickness t, increased area A and decreased molecular weight of a fluid M. The diffusion constant D decreased with increasing M. (a) By assuming v, t, dP, A, M and D changes proportionally of each other, find the equation of v as a function of t, dP, A and D. (b) The ratio of self diffusion constant D, at T = 273 K and P = 0.1 MPa, for gases B and C are 1.604 : 0.155. If only 2 gases exist in such a system : hydrogen and nitrogen, find the type of gas for B and C with reference to their molecular weights M. (c) By using the equation of kinetic energy 0.5 MV = constant where V = square of v, find the ratio of V for B and V for C, or V(B) / V(C), as a function of M(B) and M(C), where M(B) is molecular weight of B and M(C) the molecular weight of C : Graham's Law of Diffusion.
We are having proplem with the persperation smell in ETT/ECHO room in our cardiac hospital. The 2 Ton of AC is not conditioning the environment. We have to use exhaust fan to through out of the room bad air. Could anyone suggest how to coup with this effectively using chemical engineering. Any permanent solution to neutralise the bad smell. The Air freshners are not doing enough instead making a bad odour.

THERMODYNAMIC - EXAMPLE 10.3 : According to Raoult's law, the pressure when vapor is completely condensed, P = x(1) P(1) + x(2) P(2) ... + x(n) P(n) when x(1), x(2) ... x(n) are the mole fractions of component 1, 2 ... n and P(1), P(2) ... P(n) are the vapor pressures of component 1, 2 ... n. A vapor at 74 degree Celsius containing 70 mole % water and 30 mole % ethanol is to be completely condensed. At the temperature of 74 degree Celsius vapor pressure is 0.38 atm for water and 0.97 atm for ethanol. What is the minimum pressure the compressor must be operated?
