lighteining protection can be achieved by using lightening
arrestors at the highest points in an industry if its area
is less. but for larger area to be covered, several
lightening areestors are to be used. or
in the EHV substations, continuous earth wire mesh is
formed covering entire area.

1)Several lightining arrester is used at the top of towers
lightning mast ,& buildings.
2)shild or ground wires are used above transmission line.
Gound wires are also used above & throughout the sub
station .
3)40mm or 32mm Ms rod are placed to entire area of plant
with wealding joints.
All lighting arresters and ground wires are connected
through the MS gried.
