Answer / payal raut
Stress: It is the internal resistance per unit cross
sectional area.Any body produces resistance to the external
thrust acted upon it.eg.columns under the beam.
Pressure: It is the force exerted per unit
area.eg.atmospheric pressure on earth.

Answer / bulls
stress is the resistance force per unit area of cross
section offered force by the material or u can say it is a
reaction
force
pressure is the force per unit area or u can say it is an
action force

Answer / nitin kumar
stress is the internal resistance offered by a body against any compressive or tensile loading on it & it is the internal property of the body..
pressure is external force acting perpendicular to the body per unit area,so,it is external property of the body

Answer / bips
stress is the internal resistance offered by a material for
unit area to the externally applied load or force to remain
in its original state whreas the pressure may be defined as
the external load or force applied per unit area which
deforms or tends to deform the material.unit is same coz
both are force in unit area.

Answer / subham mishra
stress is the resisting force per unit area(gradually
apllied tensile or compressive load) whereas pressure is the
applied force per unit area.
another difference is that pressure always acts
perpendicular to the surface or area but stress can be act
normally(tensile stress) as well as tangentially(shear stress).

Stress is the internal force and Pressure is the external
force. Stress(S) + Pressure (P) = 0
| Is This Answer Correct ? | 2 Yes | 2 No |
Answer / shivam
pressure is a external force acting over a surface area of a
material
stress is a internal force acting over a c/s area with in
material

Answer / nagabhushan
stress is related to the solids where as the pressure is
for the fulids.
but the formuale & units for the both are same i.e
stress is the resting force offerd by the material per unit
normal area
stress=force/area N/mm2
pressure is the unit force exceted per unit normal unit area
p=force/area N/mm2
