20 amps is the suitable rating of MCB for 1.5 Ton A.C &
because in starting time it takes 1.5 times more current of
the full load current .1 Ton=09 amps.

Because of compressor at the start current may be more than
5In , but once atrted it will take In only , os 'C' type
mcb only should be refer , now current depends upon the
watt rating so uo to 2.5kw 16 amp MCB can be used but if it
is more than 2.5 kw to 3.5 kw go with 20amp mcb only

For 1.5 ton 1743 w power consumption AC, went with 16 A type C MCB.
Digital domestic House Electric meter showed around 8 Amp current for AC only.
1.5 times 8 is around 12
Hence 16 A is best for power consumption around 1743 W.
