I suppose the previous answer is wrong...as it can be of any
orientation and size...

firstly u need to find the center of cake and the center
of the rectangular piece(which may be at of any
orientation) and join those center with an imaginary line
and cut along that line with ur knife....

But the question is to cut itin one straight cut. So let it
be cut anywhere in the cuboid. But as it is a rectangle.
Cutting it horizontally through height( slicing along height
as we slice butter on bread:) ) would make an equal half.

the piece removed will be of any dimensionand any cornor or
any place...k now assume the piece is not taken you havethe
whole cuboid..how will you cut it exact half..by cutting
along its diagonally....
now you need to imagine by the question given, you have to
cut the remaining cake diagonally also make sure that the
removed piece also would have been diveded exactly..if it
would be actuly there(imagine)....

cut the cake from the vertical center then only u can get
two equal pieces doesn't matter what shape had been removed
from the cake u will always get two equal size pieces as the
shape of new pieces will be same as well as volume...!!
