What is the function of a capaitor in 1-phase IM?
Answer / mamun
bcoz the single phase IM can not start by self i.e no starting
torque. if use capacitor with starting winding that make
higher angle between the starting winding current and
main/running winding current, so the 1-phase IM can be start
with the help of capacitor.
