In power station ac power is generated and it is covenient
and easier to transmit and distribute ac power than dc power.
So most of the equipment are are designed for ac .So ac

ac supply is coventional to use and cheap.if use dc supply
instead ac supply it is comparatively dangerous.maintainence
cost is high.dc equipments are economically high and need
much proper maintainence

in ac current flows in both cycle means synosoidal.but in
dc direct current flows which is hazadous.dc current is
harmful from safety point of view if it has to be used for
domestic purpose.for example if leakage current flows from
some applicance and if it is caught by human and if it is
dc than one can not not get rid of it as flow of current is
direct but if it is AC than one can get rid of it after
completion of cycle as it is alternate current so it is
less harmfull.

Ac supply is cheap and get easily but Dc suplly is costly
most of the motors ,equipment etc is working in AC so now
its not posible to change .In dc thevoltage is low .

ac is easy to generate & in every cycle the value of voltage
is change while dc give constant voltage and it is generate
by ac & so it also costly than ac.
