how hazordious area is classified at an oil & gas plant
and categorise suitable class of electric equipment in that
area like induction motors, LCS, Lighting Fixtures
Fluerescent/Flood lights Mercury& sodium lights, J.Bs,
Power Cables etc
Answers were Sorted based on User's Feedback
Hazourdous areas are clasified according to the process of
the plant in a Oil or a gas plant dipends upon the lekages
like gasses or oils where occur in a work place
there are 3 zones
1. zone - 1 where lekages of oil or gas occur in abnormal
conditions
2. Zone - 2 where lekages are never occur in normal
conditions
3. Zone - 0 where lekages are likely occur in normal
operation conditions
the usage of electrical equipment is EXD EXP EXE

Answer / b das
For zone-0 ; no electrical equipment
For zone-1 ; only flame proof(FLP) electrical equipment
including cable gland with witht mark "exd","exp" "exi"
(intrinsically safe for instruments)certified by CMRI
For zone-2 ; electrical equipment including cable gland
with mark "exe" but continuous sparking part eg. slipring
etc. enclosure must be "exd"
Apart from above there are again gas group;1A,IIA/IIB,IIC.
Area under IIC most hazordous.
