The CVT is meant for voltage measurement in HVAC system.
Apart from this CVT is used for PLCC communication also.
However current transformer is used for current measurement
in HVAC system.

CVT is capacitive voltage transformer. We prefer cvt over
voltage transformer for transmissions like 33kv and above.
If we use voltage transformer it will be bulky.
