To limit short circuit current and make generators and
transformers of equal capacities and different impedances
share the load equally ,in parallel operation

wrt my above answer please delete generator,as the output
is controlled by the prime mover.However series reator can
be used for generator when two generators have common
excitation due to failure of one of them.
