why should we have to maintain pf in our site 0.9????????
Answers were Sorted based on User's Feedback
Answer / onkar tate
power=voltage*current*pf
hence,
current=power/voltage*pf
thus when pf is less current carried by conductor is
greater at constant voltage
due to this trasmission losses are increases,size & hence
cost of conductor increases

Answer / pillay
Power providing companies impose a penalty if the PF drops
below a particular level because it would be very expensive
for them to provide power at a low level of PF.So it is the
responsibility of the consumer to maintain the PF above that
level.
