Explain Buccholz relay in detail.
Answers were Sorted based on User's Feedback
Bucholz relay is connected in between the manin tank and
conservator tank and in an angle, when the faults like
loose connection or heat desipation from winding occurs the
gas buble is produced in the oil. As the conservator tank
is installed above the tank level the gas buble trys to
travel to the conservator tank, in between the bucolz relay
is there the gas buble gets trapped in the bucolz relay and
it presses the flot in bucloz relay to down words and it
will activate for once in lot of faults like gas develops
if sudden major fault like short CKT it will activate
imediyetly

Buchholz relay is a gas- actuated relay installed in oil-
immersed transformers for protection against all kind of
faults. It is used to gives an alarm in case of slow
developing faults or incipient faults in the transformer
and to disconnect the transformer from the supply in the
event of severe internal faults. It is installed in the
pipe between the conservator and main tank.
