Electricty is generated at around 16kV, then step up to 220kV for transmission then steped down to power transformers then DTs and then through the LT n/w it reaches the consumer end. At the consumer end 230V supply is required. So, why is electricity not generated directly at 230V and transmitted?
The neutral&earth voltage is 0v.But we were connected the lighting load at the time ballast was failed.why?

my company total load is 1000kw, 415volt, all load are inductive load. incoming powerfactor is .8. we want to have0.95 pf connecting capacitors. so now how much rating of capacitors we have to connect? show how?
