1)in star there is a possible of neutral (i.e return path)
but in delta thereis no return path
2) in star phase current and line currents are same (Iph =
IL) but in delta (vph = vL).

in star IL=IPH .......... in delta VL=VPH
accoding to kirchofs law meeting towards point and away
from point is equal to zero
so in star neutral is done
no neutral in delta connection

in case of alternators
generally star connection is preffered because it has a flushing out point for odd harmonics but whereas delta connection lets it circulate inside itself..
