avr are 2 type one is voltage detection another one is load
compensation for voltage detection inout is voltage for
load compensation we have to give both voltage and current
so we r using gen avr are loadcompensation type

First of all, we dont have any machine that give output without input. we have CT connected to thegenset o/p &secondry of the CT is connected to the AVR. the AVR sense the current o/p of Genset & give commond to the control system of excitation to control the excitation voltage & current.
