turbocharger part of #1 is right... but supercharger parrt
is wrong.. its a compressor driven by the engine's
mechanical output...

turbo charger is used in diesel engine ,super charger is
used in gasoline engine(petrol)engine ...both are used to
increase the pressure of inlet air before it enters into
the cylinder.in diesel engine the exhaust gas would be
enough pressure to run the compressor which increases the
pressure of inlet air here no need of external power supply
but in the case of petrol the exhaust gas wouldnt be enough
pressure to run the supercharger compressor so in that we
should give battery power to the copressor.

Both Turbo & Super Charger serve the same purpose...they are
small compressor units that compress the inlet air into the
cylinder, i.e. more volume of air enters the
cylinder/combustion chamber. More air means that more fuel
can be stuffed in, too, so you get more power from each
power/working stroke in each cylinder. A turbo/supercharged
engine produces more power overall than the same engine
without the charging.
The key difference between a turbocharger and a supercharger
is its power supply. Turbo charger is driven by a turbine
which uses the high pressure exhaust gases, whereas a
Supercharger is powered by belt/chain drives coupled to the
crankshaft itself.

Turbo charger is driven by turbine which has been diven by
engine exhaust gases used to increase the efficiency..
super charger is used in air plane which has high altitude.
so there is lack of air. so super charger is used to pull
the extra air into the engine to increse the efficiency
which has been driven by engine crankshaft accessories

why we use kg/cm2 instead of kg/m2 as a unit of pressure. As we know kg is a MKS unit and cm is a CGS unit. So why we use combination of both(kg/cm2)while describing the pressure.
