why we use vsb transmission for video signal transmission
and why dont we use ssb transmission?

Answer / devendra krishna
we use it because in Vsb Xmission a part containing
information more than one sideband is transmitted & in that
extra part, information regarding low frequency components
of colours of video signal exists. While in SSB Xmission this
part is supressed so lower frequency components of colour is
supressed..

Actually the video signal contains significant low frequencies which when modulated using ssb will be filtered out and reconstruction is not possible. Using vsb modulation will help to retain the lower frequency component during the reconstruction of the video signal.

IN ssb transmission the freqency is not sufficient for
video signal transmission.the video signal ranges from 6khz
to 24khz.

Vsb has been used for video signal transmission because the video signal having a bandwidth of 0 to 4.5 mhz if we use
Am and dsb then the amount of bandwidth would be 9 mhz(2fm)
Which is practically impracticable . If we use ssb the spectral gap for video signal is o hz and there may lose of information takes palce in ssb.
So vsb has been used

actually generation os ssb is difficult as well as costly
than vsb so due to this vsb transmission is preffered.

Answer / abhay sunder
simply becoz of low cost incase of vestigial sidebands otherwise ssb can also do the same work........
