what is the use of Reactive power in power system?

Answer / iamdon
Reactive powers (vars) are required to deliver active power
(watts)through transmission lines. Most of the electric
equipments works on the induction priciple where the
magnetizing current is needed to establish the working flux. The
energy stored in field is returned back to system when it
turned OFF,but as long as it is ON we need Q(it is oscillating
at the frequency which is double of supply frequency). Motor
loads and other loads require reactive power to convert the
flow of electrons into useful work. When there is not enough
reactive power, the voltage sags down which creates a vicious
circle and it is not possible to push the power demanded by
loads through the lines.

reactive power is that power which can oscillates between
the transmission end and user end and it is only in setting
up a magnetic flux around a conductor and it is always
conserve it is no created nor destroyed

why do you add the load short circuit impedance when considering short circuit amperage. It seems that you should only consider supply. If you need to consider loads and you don't know what loads are to be added , what would be a good sub-transient reactance rating for the loads?
