Answer / lova subrahmanyam
the motor can't produce torque because there is no back emf
induced in the open ckt .due to this no rpm

Answer / sunil guru
if the circuit is complete current flows completely and
more flux is produced so EMF thus torque is produced.....
and if the rotor conductors are kept open then torque cant
be produced without torque rotor cant run....

Answer / deepankar
There will be no
current in rotar circuit
and hence rotar does
not rotate at all.
Because of no back
emf the total applied
voltage will lead to a
very high current in
statar windings making
a probability of burning
of statar windings.

why a single phase motor of same rating takes more amps than the three phase motor? as single phase motor at 230v takes 5amp per HP while 3 p motor takes 2.5amp per hp at 230v.
Instead of single phase(220), if apply Phase to phase supply (eg: for lighting fixture). what will be the power formula? what will be the volt and current value? please explain me with some example.
