What is the approximate percentage of Si content in
transformer core(CRGO-Cold Rolled Grain Oriented)?
Why it is kept so low?
Answer / iamdon
Si content in CRGO steel=(3-4.5)%
Higher Si content(greater than 5%) makes the core brittle which
is not desirable as it makes difficult for punching of core
laminations.
