By using BRS (business requirement specification).. we can
prepare use cases... we can get initial idea of
system/software which we are going to develop.. BRS
contains some initial requirements which we get from client.
By BRS.. we prepare SRS.. IN SRS, whatever requirement we
got in BRS.. we put in a well documented format with some
additional domain or system knowledge. Usually Business
analyst person prepare SRS. BAs also provides some
enchantment or modification to the BRS requirements.
Tester/developer mostly interact with the SRS (not BRs)..
If we consider SDLC thn BRS comes first then SRS comes
SDLc( in brief form)
1) BRS
2) SRS
3) Design
4) Coding
5) Testing
6) Support/maintenance
Thanks

BRS - Businees requirement specification,
SRS - Software ,, ,,
Always client send the BRS to BA (Business analyst) and he
convert the BRS into SRS. since BRS is fully written on
businees language that's why we have BA to convert the BRS
to SRS. Based upon SRS only developers develop the product
& testers understannd the product then start write the test
cases.
