220V to 11KV? Is it possible? Explain it?

The working principal of transformer is step up / step down
voltage without any chage in frequency.
So frequency remains same at both sides step up side or
step down side, normaly it is 50Hz.

Generally Frequency is maintained by generation station for
a common distribution system. It is not possible to change
frequency while step up or step down the voltage on any
transformer.
This is also possible to change the frequency by term of
electronic controll device like in soft starter. In the soft
starter frequency is controlled with voltage to control the
speed of motor.

it is possible to step up 220v to 11kv using transformer, transformer does not change frequency,ti only transfer power one stage to another with constant freq.

Answer / amarnath
it should be or it is 49.5 to 50.5 Hz normally. If this is
not the frequency then we need to have a capacitor to
improve the frequency and power factor.

frequency is same that of 220kv,220/11kv is possible.it
depends on secondary windings

It doesn't matter if you step up or step down the voltage, frequency will always remain the same as per principle of transformer it transforms voltage without any change in frequency.

Can u explain : what is supply for train (whether a,c or d.c ).I know that supply is 25000v a.c .But there is rumour that supply is D.C. And also explain how lights and fans inside the trains are working ,and what type of motors are used in trains whether D.C motors or induction motors .If d.c motor, how it gets supply. If traction motors are used then what are traction motors and its functions and how it differs from other motors and also explain about locomotive . y d.c series motor in train.train wheels r driven by D.C shunt motor ,at what voltage, and at what speed. please reply..............
