Answer / d v n potharaju
Grade given here is not the compressive strength but it is
the fineness of the cement.53 grade would be more finer than
the 43 grade.
so 53 grade cement would generate more heat of hyderation
developing strength at rapid rate ,however the final
strength of both the grade wiil be same and to be identified
with finess only .

43& 53 indicates the compressive strength of that
particular grade,we can say this answer with our course
study ,in the field we can identify by seeing those
gredes on the bags.

43 grade OPC Cement it denotes the compressive strength of
concrete in 43 Mega pascals will attain in 28 days. it is
normally used for pavements, Non RCC structures and which
are not important for initial strength. where as 53 Grade
OPC Cement it denotes the compressive strength of 53 Mega
Pascals will attain in concrete with the 28days, and it is
used for RCC strengths and which are important to gain
initial strength.

Answer / ajay bapat
it must be mentioned on cement bag supplied at
site.Although we can cast 7.5cm size cement mortar cubes
(1:3) i.e. one part of cement & 3 parts of standard sand &
must be tested for compressive strength after 28 days
curing. Compressive strength will differentiate the grade.

i think the setting time variation,in 43 grade cement used for
brickwork&plastering.53 grade cement is used for concrete work

I have a slab of 20cm thickness of 20m by 4m in wich we are installing 15 tons electric panels , and we have put 4 H-shaped columns under the slab but we have done many cores in the slab which seems very normal , can you help me by telling me how to calculate the bearing capacity of the slab or give me an idea if i should increase more columns Note: load distribution area 12*1.5 m2
