In general, there are 2 types of Tx; Dry type (normally
called cast resin) and Oil Type Tx.
Selection to design the Tx whether to be dry or oil type is
subject to the cooling system of the tx itself. For the Dry
Tx, air will be the cooling media whereby in Oil Tx, the
oil itself will be a media to cool the tx’s core winding.
There are 2 types of cooling system that can be use named
Natural Cooling (ONAN) and Force Cooling (ONAF). These
types of cooling systems can be applied for both tx.
In principle, both (Oil & Dry) Tx works the same way. The
major difference is that, you can see the core winding for
the Dry Tx (since the winding enclosed in air ventilated
enclosure) but you can’t see it on Oil Tx (since the
winding enclosed in confine metal enclosure@tank).

Dry type transformer is one of natural air cooling
transformer.whole winding of transformer are covere by air
ventilated sheet.
Mostly it is used small rating (ex=2 MVA.
Main advantage is maintentance free.

Answer / thilaknpti
dry transformers (containing no liquid) are enclosed in
sealed, pressurized tanks and cooled by nitrogen or sulfur
hexafluoride gas.
Experimental power transformers in the 2 MVA range have been
built with superconducting windings which eliminates the
copper losses, but not the core steel loss. These are cooled
by liquid nitrogen or helium.

what is AB switch???
As we know multiplicity factor derivation equation is as below MF = main c t ratio / main p t ratio * meter c t ratio / meter p t ratio * meter dial constant Where in digital meters for HT kwh import export now a days meter constant are calibrated already which is 1 So my question is For HT 11kv 110 v line values are as below Main c t and p t ratio are 11000 v and 110 v and 20/5 means 20 amp and 5 amp Now meter values are 11000/√3/110√3 and primary and secondary amp are displayed as -/5 amp on kwh meter so what will be the MF for this meter ?
