take place when we use them at the load side to reduce the
power factor?

how does the switching of capacitors in a capacitor bank take place when we use them at the load s..

Answer / mpn

Switching is done by closing the apropriate contactor in
the circuit. Suppose you have a 30 KVAR capacitor bank, a
40 KVAR capacitor bank and a 50 KVAR capacitor bank. Each
will have a contactor in the circuit. If you want only the
30 KVAR capacitor bank in the circuit, you close only that
paricular contactor. If you want 90 KVAR, you close the
contactor for 40 KVAR and 50 KVAR banks.
Also, please note that there is a mistake in your question.
Nobody will use capacitor bank for reducing the pf. It is
used for improving the pf.
