whether a spehrical ballon rises faster or a cylindrical ballon? ..

Answer / jitendra

Spherical ballon
Since sphere has a smallest surface area the friction
exerted on the ballon by the air will be less than that of
a cylindrical ballon which has greater surface area than
spherical ballon. Hence spherical ballon will rises faster.

whether a spehrical ballon rises faster or a cylindrical ballon? ..

Answer / narendra

spherical baloon because spherical shape gets less pressure
of atm. gaseous.

whether a spehrical ballon rises faster or a cylindrical ballon? ..

Answer / bejoy

assuming both baloons to be having same volume..then both
will have same bouyantic force acting on them..now again as
u know a cylnder of same volume has more surfce area, the
weight of rubber used for a cylinderical baloon would b
higher(assuming same thicknes for both baloons), so
spherical will weigh lesser..now assuming again that the
same amount of rubber is used for both, then just drag
decides..and drag is decided by the configuration in which
the balon is rising..even a cylindircal baloon can rise
faster(assuming it to be going up length wise) if its
properly configured and left..assuming again no disturbing
forces in air..

whether a spehrical ballon rises faster or a cylindrical ballon? ..

Answer / karthick

in general anything in the form of spherical attains
equilibrium position faster than other form.so i guess
spherical rises faster than cylindrical

whether a spehrical ballon rises faster or a cylindrical ballon? ..

Answer / sharath

spherical

because of the curvy surface of spherical balloon it is easy to cut the air stream. but in the case of cylindrical balloon resistance is more due to flat face

whether a spehrical ballon rises faster or a cylindrical ballon? ..

Answer / dilip mishra

As we know the Pressure is inversely proportional to area ( P= F/ A) , hence spehre is less surface area which in-turn reduces the value of denominator and increase force on unit surface area then cylindrical balloon.

Greetings This question is about hydraulics and I request an expert to answer it. A simple hydraulic machine is made up of two heads, a larger one with a larger force inside a wider pipe and a smaller one with a smaller force inside a smaller pipe in width as in the second picture on this link: http://science.howstuffworks.com/hydraulic1.htm The question is this: what happens if the smaller head and the smaller force doesn’t exist but the smaller pipe is high enough to take all the liquid? For example the larger head is 1.00 sqr metre and can go down 1.00m under a weight of 100.00kg. The cross sectional area of the smaller pipe is 0.001 sqr metre. Now when the larger head goes down 1.00m, how high the liquid from the wider pipe can go into the smaller pipe of the cross sectional area of 0.001 sqr metre? Regards
