Answer / aymaan
they r used to supply the substation auxillaries at
differnt voltage levels other than primary and secondary
also when we use ynyn0 connection in transformer a delta
tertiary is used to provide closed path for 3rd harmonics
which is not there in ynyn

Answer / gunasekaran
this is used for auto transformer not YNyno. the following
purpose are there
1.third hormonic supression.
2.we can get another additional voltage so we can use for
auxillary.
3.reactive power compensation we can put the capacitor on
tertiary we can compensate the reactive power

As we use capacitor bank in 3ph ckt to improve PF, can we use capacitor in single ph domestric use, in house we have Fan,Mixer, electric cooker, iron, tube choke they also lag the system, because it is inductive load. if it is possible to improve PF of single ph system-- if yes- type of capacitor to be used, connection diagram, working in detail. if no-- list it.
