define transient state &steady state
Answer / naveen rangu
Due To presence of storage elements like capacitor and
inductor transients will occur in the given circuit as they
oppose the sudden changes in electrical quantities like
current in case of inductor and voltage in case of
capacitor, based on the theroem of constant flux
linkages.this state is called transient and during this
state the circuit makes oscillations and may go into
unstability. But this state will be exist for some time only
based on the circuit parameters generally five times the
time constant of the circuit.after this state to infinite
amount of time is called steady state

when i am going to take trail on a 3ph sq.i/m motor 5.5kw, i observed that RPM of the motor is very low as compared to the rated RPM and also it rotates in clockwise in first ON command, and anticlock wise in second ON command. finally i observed that on phase is no available . but iam not clear about, why the motor is rotates in both directions without any phase interchanging.pls answer to my question.
