releaving

Answer / mukesh parekh
Annealing means softning of any component for Maching and
core refining. Where as Stress Releaving carried out to
remove stresses from Febrication Body, Casting Components
for Weather distortion, Heavy Maching stresses for avoiding
distortion in Hardning process. Stress Releaving Process is
mainly carried out to remove Stress from components without
reducing basic hardness of material.

ANNEALING IS A PROCESS IN WHICH WE SOFTEN THE METAL .
STRESS RELEAVING IS THE PROCESS IN WHICH WE REMOVE THE
RESIDUAL STRESSES WHICH OCCUR DUE TO HEAVY WELDING , HEAVY
MACHINING,AND DURING FABRICATION

Annealing is done to soften the material for Machining and
core refining. Where as Stress Releiving carried out to
remove stresses from Febrication Body, Casting Components
for Weather distortion, Heavy Maching stresses for avoiding
distortion in Hardning process without decreasing the
hardness of the material.
Annealing(full) is usually carried out at temperatures
above Ac3, whereas Stress relieving is generally a
subcritical process.

Answer / devashish
ANNEALING: softens metal ; Stress Relieving:internal stress
are removed without affecting hardness
ANNEALING:at high temp. above Ac1 and Ac3 ; Stress
Relieving:sub critical pcs
ANNEALING:cooling rate is either slow or rapid i.e
non-uniform ; Stress Relieving:Uniform Cooling Rate
ANNEALING: diffusion may take place ; Stress Relieving:no
diffusion

Answer / pawan
Annealing is the process in which the hardness of material
minimised and stress releaving is the process in which we
stress carried out without remove the material hardness

What is gold investment casting?
The requirement for ASTM A217 Gr. WC9 castings for valves components like Body and Bonnet were Normalising at 920+/- 20 Deg. C and Tempring 780+/- 20 Deg. C The specification calls furnace shall be calibtated within +/-14 deg. C The Heat Chart shows minimum temperature for normalising 900 to 920 Deg. C, but maximum temperature 960-990 Deg. C Tempering 780+/-20 Deg. C is within limits and accepted. Casting having integral test bars, heat trated along with castings passed in chemical znalysis and mechanical properties. Since normalising maximum temperature is not meeting specification, where castings can be salvaged or renormalised and retempered to meet specification. Whether it will have affect on remechanical properties testing
